In the decisive match, the Belarusian-Philippine duo, seeded fourth, faced Austrian Alexander Peya and German Philipp Petzschner, defeating them in two sets: 7:6 (7:5), 6:3. On their way to the finals, Max and Treat beat Australians Chris Guccione and Bernard Tomic, as well as the Polish-Mexican duo of Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Santiago Gonzalez and finally defeated Columbians Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah, seeded first at the tournament.

This is the second time that Max Mirnyi has performed in the finals of the tournament in Acapulco. In 2014, partnered by Spanish Feliciano López, he lost to Matthew Ebden of Australia and Kevin Anderson of South Africa.

Over his long sporting career, Max Mirnyi, 38, has performed in ATP doubles finals (with various partners) 92 times, claiming 49 victories. Mirnyi’s last title was in October 2013, in Beijing, partnered by Romanian Horia Tecău.
