Rich crop of medals harvested by Belarusians at European Sambo Championship, held in Kazan

Our wrestlers have clinched 15 awards, including three gold medals earned by Marina Zharskaya, Svetlana Timoshenko and Andrey Kazusenok. Our national team has also claimed 4 silver and 8 bronze awards.

Two-time European champion Stepan Popov failed to take part in the competitions, healing his leg injury, received during the training. Our national squad hopes that Stepan will restore for the World Championship — that is due to be held in Sophia, from November 10th-14th.

It has recently become known that the Belarusian will be awarded a ‘Fair Play’ diploma.
