«Nano hint» to the blood vessels
American researchers have solved the problem of stimulating the growth of blood vessels in the damaged tissue. Such a task is one of the most important in regenerative medicine and transplantation. Samuel Stupp and his colleagues at Northwestern University have developed a liquid which, when introduced into the patient`s tissue, turns into matrix of nanofibers. Nanofibers provide a background for the rapid multiplication of vascular cell. According to the «Technology Review», the researchers tested the invention of the mouse. The introduction of nanofibers has caused the growth of new blood vessels, resulting in increased blood flow in the legs and improve motor function.

Dolphins are super navigators
Dolphins are known for their echolocation abilities. But, apparently, nature is suggested that this is not enough, and awarded dolphin species Sotalia guianensis a feeling electric field. Why the moon is asymmetrical?
Moonlight dichotomy – the difference between the visible and back of our satellite – is a consequence of the old collapse of the second Earth’s moon. The team of researchers from the USA and Switzerland came to this conclusion. They presented their ideas in an article in «Nature». Riddle of obvious differences between the two hemispheres of Selena tormented astronomers for decades, ever since spacecrafts allowed to see the backside of the moon.
In order to explain the differences various hypotheses put forward. In particular, versions about early volcanic activity far side, about the asymmetry in the convection and crystallization of magma, and so forth. But the new work suggests that the key to everything is the death of the Earth`s second moon.
