Diplomatic mission just starting

Opportunities for the normalisation and development of Belarusian-American relations were discussed during a meeting between Belarus’ Foreign Minister, Vladimir Makei, and Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the United States in Belarus, Scott Rauland

‘During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities, both current and potential, for gradual normalisation and further development of Belarus-US relations, while also sharing their assessments of the situation in the region. The Minister wished the US diplomat successful and fruitful work, and expressed hope that Scott Rauland’s diplomatic mission in our country would contribute to a better understanding and general improvement of the relationship between Belarus and the United States’ notes the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.

Mr. Scott Rauland assumed his duties in late June, succeeding Mr. Ethan Goldrich as the Head of the American Embassy to Belarus.
