Belarusian Alexander Grinkevich-Sudnik becomes four-time world champion in classic powerlifting

At the tournament held in the US Killeen Alexander claimed gold after three lifts. Grinkevich-Sudnik had already beaten everyone in the squat, lifting 257.5kg by his third attempt. He finished fourth in the bench press, lifting 170kg, and claimed his title following the deadlift, managing 302.5kg.

“The level of competition was very high at the World Classic Powerlifting Championships. Despite having claimed gold three times already, it’s no easier. In fact, I think it’s more difficult to defend a title. The fate of the gold medal hung in the balance until the final attempt in the deadlift. I was able to do everything I needed to, and I’m very thankful to my Dinamo coaches and management, for their help in training me for the Championship,” says Alexander Grinkevich-Sudnik.
