Draw for 2015 Europe/Africa Zone Group II matches takes place at Headquarters of International Tennis Federation in London
In the first round, the Belarusian national team will face Ireland, on March 6-8th, 2015. Last season, Belarus beat Ireland 4:1 in Minsk, in the opener. Our squad then lost to Moldova, in Chisinau, with the same score, retaining its place in Europe/Africa Zone Group II.
The winner of the current Belarusian-Irish encounter will face the victor from the Turkey vs. UAE match, in the next round.
Belarus’ national squad is currently ranked 56th in the Davis Cup team rankings, while Ireland is 59th. The rankings are topped by the national teams of the Czech Republic, France, Serbia and Switzerland.
Max Mirnyi, 37, has played in more Davis Cup games for the national squad than any other athlete, having begun in 1994. Of its 50 David Cup matches (28 victories and 22 defeats) Max has played in 49 of them.
