Creativity expands horizons

Photo exhibition by Antoine Gonin at Minsk gallery reflects beauty of French landscapes

By Alina Grishkevich

Mr. Gonin is already known in Belarus; his Praising the Future exhibition was a success in Minsk in 2008, dedicated to the industrial world of high technologies. It now graces the walls of the French Embassy.

Mr. Gonin’s creativity is primarily known for its connection to the largest enterprises but he has also begun to develop the themes of nature and history, resulting in Horizons — the fruit of eight years of work. He devoted much time to searching for the most beautiful light, at dusk and at dawn, during a thunderstorm and under the boiling sun. He depicts views from the Cote de Granit Rose (pink granite coast) to the Palace of Versailles, from small Corsican fishing villages to the fields of Burgundy. He skilfully reflects the richness of the French countryside.
