Winners of first Europe is More Than You Think Republican contest announced

Over a hundred photos, drawings and collages from across Belarus were entered into the competition organised by the Council of Europe Information Point in Belarus. The winners were determined in two stages: Belarusian and European. First place has gone to BSU postgraduate Maxim Karlyuk, while Zvyazda newspaper photo correspondent Marina Begunkova has taken second prize, followed by Maxim Lusto — a student at the Mogilev State University.

An Internet vote via the VKontakte and Facebook social networks chose Maxim Karlyuk for first place, alongside Yegor Blintsov — a student at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts.

All works are available to view on the VKontakte and Facebook social networks, while the best pieces are to be exhibited at Minsk and regional universities, and at 70 business centres and administrative buildings in the capital. Moreover, free postcards are to be issued, presented via the official information portals and websites of the Council of Europe and Information Point.
