Belarusian track-and-field athletes have been chosen to perform at the European Championships — hosted by Zurich from August 12th-17th
Actually, the recent Belarus Championship — held in Grodno — became the decisive stage. Its results influenced the formation of the final line-up. However, coaches of the national team were led by the need for athletes to meet the qualification requirements set by the European Athletics Association. In addition, athletes had to demonstrate a visible positive dynamic in the growth of their 2014 results. Psychological sustainability and their state of health also mattered. Race walk sportsmen — who aim to take part in the Zurich event — have been chosen on the basis of their results shown in the Belarusian Cup (held this March), the World Cup (this May) and the Belarusian Championship (a month ago).
