The International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation names its laureates of 2015

Best in spite of setbacks

The International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation names its laureates of 2015. Among them is the Belarusian, Anna Streltsova, who’s been acknowledged as the best sportswoman of last year in Rixen cable waterskiing.

A year ago, Anna returned to the professional sport after a long break caused by an old injury and subsequent surgery. Doctors said the sportswoman would always suffer with a limp and would be unable to continue with the sport. However, the brave and determined Anna proved them wrong in 2015. Trained at the Novopolotsk waterski school, she became the under 21 world slalom champion and won silver at the all-round event in Spain. Later, in Germany, she was crowned overall champion at the European Adult Championships (Rixen), while achieving silver in ski jumping and bronze in the figure skating.

The American, Regina Jacques, and Czech Adam Sedlmajer, were named best sportsmen and women of 2015 in the classical waterskiing category.
