Having spent six months with BATE Borisov, Alexander Hleb returns to Turkish team Gençlerbirliği

The 34-year-old half-back has signed a contract with the red-and-blacks until the end of this season, although the financial conditions of the agreement are as yet unknown.

The Belarusian footballer played in 19 matches with Gençlerbirliği from February to June 2015, (scoring twice and making two victorious passes). Gençlerbirliği has not had a good start to the season however, being ranked 16th after 17 rounds in the Turkish Super League which does not bode well for a move to the lower division.

Over the last six months with BATE, the player has taken part in 12 games and managed to earn another championship title with his club. Moreover, helped the Borisov players get into the Champions League.
