AUTUMN MARCH ROUTES

Autumn is the season, which attracts travelers. Somebody chooses warm countries, somebody finds places in the Motherland, which uncover their beauty at this time of the year. The main direction of a business trip in November will become a march route Minsk–London. There, in the capital of Great Britain, will take place the Belarus Investment Forum. Without exaggeration, this is an event of several recent years from the point of view of communicative relations, which touches upon the image of the country, its economic and partnership potential, a perspective of future business contacts. Not in vain the government pays so much attention to the forum. It is no coincidence, that there are many articles in our magazine, dedicated to this topic, which are conventionally united by the cover note “Minsk–London: economic express gains speed”. This is a really interesting march route.
We will continue our considerations.

The world is more than ever under the heaviness of manufacturability. Well, a man has always wanted to improve his life with the help of invention and scientific discoveries. And then he felt danger, when he noticed, that urbanization damages the environment. The fight for ecological cleanliness became a banner of parties and movements, which chose green color the brand of their actions.

Thus, ideas of the “green” find many adherents in our society. The Belarusians also feel call upon those actions, which have an obvious life advantage. In order to ease the imprint of supersaturated manufacturability, they join the adherents of the action “The Day without a Car”. The fact, that 2008 was declared the Year of Health on the national level, is also very important. This fact didn’t become a simple formality — people of different ages with pleasure answered the offer to take part in mass sportive events. Moreover, if the President gives an example. Not only did many people see the sense of publicity of such events, but also felt the obvious benefit of unobtrusive daily behavior in the sphere of a healthy life style.

Nevertheless, a homo sapiens greets such actions as “The Day without Tobacco” — they also find support among our fellow citizens. In October the capital stood out with an interesting initiative and announced Minsk for half a day the territory of sobriety. In the sphere of the capital trade instead of alcoholic beverages candies were offered, and the workers of Minsk militia carried out an intense organising campaign against alcohol abuse. Besides, this action came home to the citizens.

Of course, it is not that simple to refuse bad habits. Timely unobtrusive advices seem to be good. Somebody will open his eyes wider and see more interesting and useful things around him. Besides, our magazine can also help in this sphere, being a peculiar navigator throughout Belarus and telling about its wonderful places.

One of the articles of this issue — “In Nesvizh like in Paris” — reminds, that the castle of the Radzivill family, the “Belarusian Versailles”, registered in the UNESCO List of world heritage, was opened for the tourists. Once upon a time Nesvizh was the residency of the richest aristocrats of Europe. They were so rich, that even Moscow and Warsaw envied them. This is why numerous riches from Nesvizh fell outside Belarus. The palace is being restored and practically in the beginning of autumn its first five halls were opened for tourists.

Mirsky castle, the Palace of Radzivilly, the White Tower are pearls of architectural heritage of Belarus. They are well-known to everybody. Alongside with that, there are monuments here, which are also significant, but stay in the background.

Let’s come back to the beginning of our discussion. Manufacturability, whichever negative features it has, is useful, because it brings progress. Near Geneva was launched the biggest elementary particle accelerator in the world — the Large Hadron Collider. A colossal scientific experiment. The scientists hope to give the answer to the question of the World origin and to make many other, less clear for general public, but as important discoveries for humanity. It is pleasant that Belarusian science didn’t stand aside: more than thirty national engineers and scientists work as a part of the international brigade, serving the experiment. To this topic is dedicated the interview with the Director of the National Center of Physics and High Energy, professor Shumeyko, in the article “Narrow mirage”.

When the aspiration to manufacturability is combined with care to protect the environment — this is wonderful. The example of such an approach is demonstrated by Belarusian mechanic engineers, in particular, the representatives of Minsk Automobile Plant and their partners of the Czech Republic.
