Ukrainian striker Alexander Materukhin re-joins Dinamo Minsk hockey club

As the official notification reads, the player and the club have signed a one-year bilateral contract and Materukhin will play for Dinamo’s farm club — Shakhtyor Soligorsk — in the forthcoming season.

Last season, Alexander played 41 matches for Dinamo Minsk, scoring 14 times and making three assists. In the Nadezhda Cup, he boasted 12 matches and 11 (6+5) bombardier points. Until the ‘bison’ team was established in the country, the Ukrainian played for Neman Grodno.

In May, Materukhin signed a contract with Donbass Donetsk but, due to the tricky political situation in the south-east of Ukraine, the club is barred from participating in the forthcoming seventh KHL Championship, although it preserves its membership in the league. Donbass will be able to renew its KHL performance in at least a year (on condition that the political situation stabilises).

These days, Dinamo’s full time players, a group of sportsmen (employed under fixed-term contracts) and their coaches are training in Czech’s Kravare. The session is to unite three friendly matches: against KHL colleagues (Slovana Bratislava) and the Czech extra-league clubs — Ocelarzi Triniec and Olomouc.
