China committed to open strategy of mutually beneficial co-operation with Belarus

China is remaining committed to an open strategy of mutually beneficial co-operation with Belarus, noted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus, H.E. Mr. Cui Qiming, at a meeting of the Young Diplomats club, at the House of Friendship.

The meeting highlighted the role of diplomacy in strengthening friendship between the peoples of China and Belarus. The Ambassador spoke about the main foreign political priorities of China and reminded those present that Chinese President Xi Jinping has proposed a number of new concepts and ideas dealing with development for the country and the region.

According to the diplomat, China’s response to challenges faced by the international community is to build relations with other states. It is relying on mutual respect and benefit, while being committed to an independent peaceful foreign policy, and steadily following its chosen path of development.

“Every state and people should be respected; all countries, be they weak or strong, rich or poor, should be equal. Everyone should respect the development path of other countries and not interfere with the internal affairs of each other,” stresses Mr. Qiming. The Ambassador believes that states and peoples should work together in addressing various problems and work together to ensure security.

Attending the meeting were Minsk schoolchildren and gymnasium pupils learning Chinese, representatives of the Belarus-China Friendship Society, and members of the Belarusian Association of UNESCO Clubs.
