Alexey is delighted to have been chosen and now has his heart set on reaching the stars. He has three times attempted to be selected for Eurovision, singing during selective rounds, and this will be his second time at the Vitebsk contest. He tells us, “It’s not the first time I’ve attempted to qualify for the Slavianski Bazaar. Now, it’s time for me to roll up my sleeves and rehearse, as I want to win, even if it takes 25 hours of practice each day!”
The contest traditionally requires performance of both a world hit and a song performed in Belarusian. Alexey is confident with his jazz styled Song For You but has decided to change his choice of Belarusian language composition, in consultation with the Spamash Centre, following Mikhail Finberg’s advice.
The 25th Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk International Festival of Arts will be held from July 14th-18th. The children’s and adult contests tend to be among the biggest ‘crowd-pleasers’.
