Belarus and EU agree to prioritise dialogue

The Belarusian capital recently hosted Belarusian-Austrian inter-ministerial consultations, tackling a wide range of bilateral issues — including those relating to the Eastern Partnership and the regional and international agenda.

The Belarusian delegation was headed by Belarus’ Deputy Foreign Minister, Yelena Kupchina, while the Austrian side was headed by Jan Kikkert, the Head of the Political Section at the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs.

They have agreed to implement a range of steps, promoting bilateral collaboration and Belarus-EU dialogue. Belarus’ Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Alexander Shpilevsky, joined Mr. Kikkert in signing an inter-governmental agreement on co-operation and mutual aid in customs affairs.
