Belarus’ national sports acrobatics team claims two gold and one bronze medal at FIG Acro World Cup in Belgium Puurs

Belarus’ Margarita Bartashevich and Victoria Mikhnovich finished first in the women’s pairs with a total of 27,690 points. In second place were athletes from Belgium, with third place going to the USA. One more gold medal went to the Belarusian women’s trio of Yekaterina Borisevich, Veronika Nabokina and Karina Sandovich, who scored 27,950 points in the final, leaving behind teams from the UK (which finished second) and the United States (claiming bronze).

In the men’s pairs, 2014 World Championship silver medalists Yevgeny Novikov and Ilya Rybinsky of Belarus finished third. In the mixed pairs tournament, Belarus’ Konstantin Yevstafiev and Anna Kasyan came fourth.

The second leg of the FIG Acrobatic Gymnastics World Cup 2016 will take place in Portuguese Maia from March 4th-6th. The 2016 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships are scheduled for April 1st-3rd in Chinese Putian, set to become the major start for the Belarusian national squad.
