Billiards is often described as “a game of tuxedos,” because all participants wear a compulsory white shirt, vest and a bow-tie.

— Is it the appearance of billiards players that first stirred up your interest in the game? — I asked the guy during our talk.

— No, — he smiled. — It is first of all the possibility of solving logic tasks that the game offers along with an intelligent pastime that attracted me.

Before taking to the billiard game, Lev Kozlov was keen on football and thought about testing his abilities in ice hockey. But once his father took him to a billiard club and that was a point of no return. The boy met his destiny. Young Lyova, as he calls himself, appreciated this support.

He did split up with his passion for football, but could not forget some of the skills that he had acquired through it. For example, fast move that is inherent to any brinkman. Of all billiard games, including Russian pyramid, English snooker, etc. Lyova has chosen pool. By the way, pool is by no means a profitable game in Belarus, as it is pyramid that rules here. As well, pool is the game where experienced players tend to win. Probably it is for this reason that the Belarusian was only 49th at the European contest held in Germany, which gathered 185 participants. Not that bad, if we take into consideration the young age of our compatriot.

There is a wise saying that argues that an empty jar has nothing to leak. That is why, Lev is convinced that in order to be a winner one should not overreact to failures, but continue forging victory, the thought very characteristic of a potential leader.

Among his highest achievements Lev cited the finals of the Russian Open Cup, where representatives of all CIS member-states were present. He competed for the second prize then.

Lev spends hours exercising both at the club and at home.

He has been partaking in different competitions for three years now. He has European Championship, Euro-tours and maybe World Championship ahead of him. He is persistent in his hope for victory.
